SLGA's own Materials and Applications had an amazing piece in the Glow festival. Unfortunately only about 200,000 people attended.

Drkrm.gallery continues to exhibit Paul Zone's photographic flashback to the underground music and style scene in 1970's New York. From from CBGB's, Max's Kansas City and the Warhol Factory to Glam Rock and the early Punk scene, this exhibition features larger-than-life legends like The Ramones, New York Dolls, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Patti Smith and a very early performance of KISS. On display through August 31

Go see Michael Sherman as soon as you can. His work is astounding. I looked at his work via digital files and I really liked it. I was prompted to cover his show for my column in Citizen LA. I was unable to make it to the opening, so I stopped by Little Bird Gallery in Atwater yesterday to see the work in person. I was so blown away by his work. The immediacy of his work, the visceral quality is just astounding. I keep thinking about it. I have to go back and look at it again. Luckily his show will be up until August 6th. Little Bird Gallery is located at 3195 Glendale Blvd in Atwater. Don't miss it!

East of Eden
You heard it hear first but this definitely wont be the last time. In September SLGA is helping to organize what will be an unprecedented exhibition. East of Eden held at the Los Angeles Municipal Gallery at Barnsdal Park will include 15 galleries, curated projects, events and more. We will be posting details and updates in the coming weeks but suffice to say this is going to be the show to give an identity to the east side gallery activities.
