The Silver Lake Gallery Alliance (SLGA) is a partnership of selected full-time galleries located in the Buroughs surrounding the Silver Lake Reservoir where member galleries are located; Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, Atwater and the upper North East (roughly Glassel Park.) The SLGA was formed to create active support and collaboration amongst its members, in order to further the region as an important destination showcasing the next generation of leaders in contemporary art. SLGA will ensure a dynamic, evolving methodology to a rapidly evolving artistic landscape within our community and beyond.

The region a long tradition as a haven of creative pioneers and it is fitting that many galleries have recently moved here to establish their business in this progressive environment. From the earliest beginnings of motion pictures, to the home of famous indie writers and musicians, Silver Lake and the surrounding Buroughs were and continue to be a choice place for many alternative favorites. Some noted personalities include Charles Bukowski, Anais Nin, Beck, Allison Anders, Henry Rollins, Karen O to name a few. The area also has the largest concentration of mid-century modern architecture in Los Angeles, drawing visitors to soak up the climate of this diverse, cutting edge and viable neighborhood.
